It'll be alright on the night
It was my last chance to see Orbital and so I had to take it. Unfortunately I remember little of it but I do know that I danced my little socks off for the entirety of the set. I was thinking about this on the train home today; I was planning on not getting too wrecked as I wanted to remember the night but after a bottle of whiskey plans tend to change. So I can't give a good review of it, I'm hoping that Ness will instead, perhaps it will bring back a few memories. This made me wonder though if I actually care if I remember it or not. I had two hours of euphoric bliss and rather than remembering the details I remember instead how excited I got when they played Halycon (with a surprise inclusion of 'The Darkness' mixed in with their usual Belinda Carlisle and Bon Jovi) and being gutted when they finished. The details are unimportant, a clear memory is unimportant. What is important is that I was elated and dancing and completely lost. It happened at that moment and now it's over. There will be other moments, other events that I won't remember but that I will thoroughly enjoy anyway. |
