Thinking about blogs

Happy Anniversary to mark k-punk who is one year old today (I thought k-punk was older than that!). Unfortunately I'm pretty clueless when it comes to music (especially grime, I still don't have a clue what it is) but I enjoy reading the blog anyway. Also a shame about The Naked Maja and Woebot whom I only recently discovered. The miserablism that has infected the blogosphere (if that's what its caled) made me think about my own blog which was two months old on Tuesday.

I started blogging to get rid of the thoughts that have a habit of plaguing me and that I felt the need to get rid of. I never really know if what I'm posting is what 'should' be posted on a blog, nor do I know much about blog etiquette if there is such a thing to speak of. Sometimes I reread my posts and wonder what I was thinking but then I remind myself that they were still my thoughts at a moment in time and I got rid of them so its okay. Sometimes I get knowledge anxiety, there's alot of intelligent people in blogland and posting thoughts can be daunting.

However, it's good to get opinions and be criticised and to discuss. It's good to learn things from new people and blogs mean that you can easily access the thoughts and opinions of people that one might never encounter otherwise. In Newcastle I don't often get to talk about philosophy, politics etc as most of my friends aren't politically or philosophically minded. This is a good thing as it means that I'm not always thinking about philosophy, morality et al. But its a bad thing because I don't have a way of vomitting thoughts at random and I can do that on a blog.

Anyway, that was just a bit of a ramble. I'll be happy if after a year 'glueboot' is still going.
