the political

I've been a bit useless updating for the past few days, I haven't really had too much to say about anything though I think that's due to my strange sleeping patterns and my long attempts to grasp the concepts of Folds. But I don't have too much to say about Folds at the moment, I think I'm going to have to get some books on mathematics. Anyway, that's not what I wanted to write about.

I went to see a Noam Chomsky film this evening called 'Power and Terror.' I thought the film itself was pretty shoddy, too many shots of him signing autographs and the public adoring him for my liking. I would've liked to have heard more about what he had to say. What he did have to say was very interesting, and inspiring in it's way. I have alot of respect for people like Noam Chomsky and John Pilger, they bring alot to the world and it's something that I would like to aspire towards.

However, I find myself more drawn to the political than to politics. There are certain openings to politics that don't have anything to do with what we today might percieve to be 'politics.' It is that potentiality that makes things possible. Our contemporary politics seems to be more about closing than opening, something of a sham really. They designate things into parties, the right and the left; I hate the terms right and left, they seem to indicate black and white, night and day, a little ridiculous when the political should open a whole space for potentiality that cannot be designated. This is what's so interesting, what is it that lies behind these significations? And in that potentiality is there space for something new to flourish?

Anyway, I have lost my words this evening. Apologies for being fragmentry and jittered. I will write more about this when I am feeling better.
